Distance Learning Network (DLN)

Now you can participate in a live class from the convenience of your home or office without the travel expenses. United Training's Distance Learning Network (DLN) is a synchronous instructor-led training delivery that gives you the critical training you need without the costs of travel.

A DLN class is the same class that we hold at one of our facilities - a live instructor-led class full of other students attending at our facility. You participate real time in the class via LiveMeeting, Skype, and a Remote Desktop Connection. You see everything the instructor does on their computer and on the whiteboard. You hear the instructor's presentation and the student conversations in the classroom. And you do the labs through a Remote Desktop Connection to a computer sitting in our classroom.

You get:

What you need to participate:

• Your own personal computer (P4 2.5 GHz with minimum 1 GB RAM) with high speed internet access (cable modem or DSL with a speed of 1.5 Mbps or better), a microphone and speakers (or headset we provide).
• A supported Operating System and web browser (see below for list)
• You'll need to install LiveMeeting, Windows Messenger, and Skype on your computer.
• Experience with Remote Desktop Connections to access your classroom machine.
• A quiet place to work that is free of distractions

DLN classes aren't for everyone:

DLN classes are designed for experienced IT professionals with experience with Remote Desktop Connections. While we provide a managed classroom environment, you'll need to provide a quiet, distraction free location for the duration of the class and manage your participation in the class.
